Graduated from Montpellier Business School in 2015, Pierre-Adrien is about to go on a biking trip from Bangkok to Paris

Over 16000 km in 10 months, 20 countries, 2 continents ... Pierre-Adrien decided to embark on an impressive « post-graduation » challenge. Graduated in 2015 from the Montpellier Business School Master Grande Ecole program, he aims at rallying Bangkok to Paris by bicycle to fulfil his thirst of meeting new people and deliver an ecological message.

A few weeks ago, Pierre-Adrien Mongin told us that he was thinking about a biking road trip in Asia… Two days before his graduation, we finally know a little more about his project that became true. « I just completed my Master’s degree and I start a new challenge: that of linking Bangkok to Paris ... by bike! » he sais, enthusiastic. « Montpellier Business School gave me the opportunity to open up internationally. During my first year of Master, 60% of my classmates were international students. I have also been able to spend one semester in South Korea (Ulsan University) and to make a six-months internship in Berlin at Rocket Internet (1 start-up incubator World). Those experiences made me enjoy multicultural environments and cultural exchanges. For several months I was thinking about a project of this type but I wanted to find an original idea to challenge myself, allowing me to feed my passion for travelling and for meeting new people while developing essential qualities for the business and entrepreneurship field. A road trip by bike is the best answer I found! ».

Extremely motivated, he wants his bike to serve as a social tool. « All the testimonies from people who travelled by bike are unanimous: you just have to arrive in a village with your bike to see a crowed of people being created around you with families inviting you for the night or a few days, » said Pierre-Adrien. « In return, I plan to offer postcards from countries were I previously travelled to the people hosting me. On a human level, I think it is now vital to embrace the world by meeting the citizens of the planet we share. »

The « sustainable development » dimension is clearly present in this long journey. « The climate change conference takes place in Paris this week and my bike trip fits perfectly in this dimension of respect for the environment. The challenge is to show that it is possible to connect two points on the planet that are very distant without issuing a gram of CO2, "he says.

Pierre-Adrien will share about his road trip through a website with a blog dedicated to this adventure from January. Then he will leave Bangkok in February. An adventure that Montpellier Business School will not fail to monitor and support! If you want to help ...
