From Yves Saint-Laurent to Zalando - Quentin Feugere, who gratuated from Montpellier Business School in 2014, starts a new career in Germany

Graduated in 2014 from the Master Grande École Program Quentin, 27 years old, started his career at Yves Saint-Laurent in Paris as a Distribution Planner and decided to work in Germany as a Merchandising Manager at Zalando, in Berlin. As an ambassador of Montpellier Business School, we met Quentin while he was in Montpellier, to tell us about his experience in Montpellier which started in 2010.

« I joined Montpellier Business School in 2010. At that time, I was attracted by the values of the school. Diversity, apprenticeship, equal opportunities, it touched my interests and motivated my choice to join the school. We often think that the speeches about the values of the school are all about marketing, but in Montpellier BS, it is more than that. It corresponds to real commitments made by the school. The year that I spent abroad also confronted me to those values. I did an exchange in China, at the Sichuan University. I was really struck by the cultural differences, I have therefore decided to learn Mandarin and to stay in China during the gap year » says Quentin. « During the gap year I did an internship in a start up, Asia Retail Partners, to help for its development in China. I worked for brands like Sergent Major and Simone Pérèle, I had to handle the merchandising and web projects. That is how I discovered the retail and fashion sector ».

Quentin decided to do his last year of Master in apprenticeship. Goodbye fashion, welcome to the industry. He is hired in apprenticeship at Saint Gobain as a Digital Marketing Project Manager in La Défense (Paris). « I liked digital marketing, so to acquire new skills my strategy was to focuse more on the function than on the sector. Here again, the alumni network worked well and I would like to thank the Saint Gobain group as well as my manager who taught me a lot about the position. However, after graduation, I went back into fashion, and I seized an opportunity at Yves Saint-Laurent in Paris, as a distribution planner. A function between supply chain and merchandising. We monitored the products assortments and inventory levels in 130 shops present in the world, from the headquarters in Paris. »

« Then I had the opportunity to join Zalando in Berlin, where I am Merchandising Manager for the Benelux area, since the beginning of this year », he continues. « Zalando has become, in the recent years, the leader of the online fashion retail in Europe. It is a young company with fairly rapid evolution opportunities. I am responsible for the assortment that is offered to customers and am the product interface for all the persons who work on the site, from marketing to supply chain through the UX or SEO. This also allows me to get closer to the new digital trends, an area that appeals to me. It's very rewarding to work with talented people in all fields. »

We wish to Quentin to be successful in his career in Germany and a happy 2016.
